For once the sun may rise from the south, but Bollywood’s obsession with remakes and remixes can’t saturate itself. After Ali Sethis Pakistani Coke Studio track Pasoori took the world by storm with its outlandish tone and vibe, Bollywood has decided to redirect the fame in the form of a remake.

Sung by Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar, the remake is titled Pasoori Nu and features in the upcoming film SatyaPrem Ki Katha.
The remake video features actors Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani. The song was shared with the caption, Presenting the song, Pasoori Nu from the movie #SatyaPremKiKatha Relive the Global Hit! Kartik Aaryan as SatyaPrem, Kiara Advani as Katha.
The song was originally sung by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill. In the remake, the chorus of the song remains the same as the original but the rest of the song has been reworked into Hindi. For the uninitiated, the original song is in Punjabi and Urdu. Ali Sethi revamped the song with music by Rochak Kohli and lyrics by Gurpreet Saini.
Soon after the song was released, the Internet was divided and how!
While some users are very disappointed, others feel that the song has received justified treatment. A user wrote, Where is the dislike button? Another said, “This is creepy. What was the need? Even Arijit Singh’s melodious voice can’t save this song.” Third added, No one can beat old Pasoori…

SatyaPrem Ki Katha is set in Gujarat and this is one of the reasons why some people fail to associate this Punjabi song with this movie. All set to hit theaters on 29th June this year, Pasoori Nu is the fifth song released by the makers. So far, songs like ‘Naseeb Se’, ‘Aaj Ke Baad’, ‘Gujju Pataka’ and ‘Sun Sajini have created a lot of hype.

In a recent interview with a major magazine, Kartik shared: When I choose a romantic film, I make sure it has something real that the audience can connect with, to relate their relationships to. Also with SPKK the attempt is to do something new but keep the love story alive. I hope audiences love this magic and Sattu and Katha’s love story affects everyone.”
